Teacher Bio

Hello!
My name is Kristina Koch and I have had the priviledge of being part of the Crawford County school system for the past 25 years. I have been teaching kindergarten for the past 21 years and am so excited to be teaching kindergarten again this year! I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois before moving to Georgia in 1997.

My Educational Experience
I have a B.S Degree in education form Chicago State University and a Master's Degree in elementary education from Troy State University. I also have an endorsement in reading.

My Kindergarten Classroom
I feel that it is important to create a classroom where students explore, engage in hands-on learning activities and, through teacher modeling and guidance, become independent learners. In my classroom, students will engage in whole group, small group and independent reading activities to promote a love of reading. Students will also use math tools and manipulatives to promote problem solving and higher order thinking skills. Students will also enjoy science and social studies time in our classroom and will engage in science experiments and will research various history, civic and holiday themes. I strive to create a safe, welcoming, rigorous and fun classroom environment.

My Educational Philosophy
I feel it is my job to introduce students to many new things and to nurture their excellence. I want my students to know they are valued members of our classroom community and want to teach them what they need to grow to their fullest potential.
